How well do you know your hydrangeas? Put your knowledge to the test this #FlowerFriday 🌸 As well as being garden show-stoppers, hydrangeas are also cheap and easy to propagate! For best results, wait until late summer to take a semi-ripe cutting (this means the cutting is old enough to have a woody base, but still soft at the tip) and insert into a pot of compost, allowing the roots around six to eight weeks to develop before moving into a larger pot.

For Insect Week, Josie from the RHS plant health team presents the findings from last night's moth trap at @rhswisley 🌿 We carefully log each species and its numbers, which are then added to a national database, which can be viewed publicly. Moths are crucial for biodiversity as they pollinate plants, serve as a food source for birds and other animals, and indicate the health of ecosystems. One of our discoveries included the delightful buff-tip moth… @insectweek #InsectWeek #GardenersOfInstagram #GardenGram #MothsOfInstagram

Discover the horticultural hero behind the cape 🦸‍♂️    One of Britain’s most influential horticulturalists and garden designers, William Robinson was a trailblazer in his advocacy for a more naturalistic style of gardening that favoured hardy and native plants 🌱    Learn about Robinson’s legacy at this exhibition, on display at the Old Lab at @rhswisley until 25 August.    William Robinson’s cape, gift of Sir William Harris, is courtesy of the Garden Museum @gardenmuseum .
