Last week I had the pleasure to catch some final rays of autumnal sun at @belmondlemanoir ‘s luscious kitchen gardens in Oxfordshire with @victorinox . These gorgeous patches of organic fruit & vegetables, herbs and greens are the vital source of ingredients not only to the hotel’s restaurant but also to the @raymondblanc Raymond Blanc Cookery School on site. After planting our own microgreens we ventured into the kitchen, cooking up a few stunning seasonal veg dishes part of the Garden to Plate course, while chopping away the ingredients with the brilliant @victorinox kitchen knifes. A truly gorgeous afternoon with a champagne-paired Bridgerton afternoon tea with @champagne_officiel and @the_lanesborough 🥂 To me, a glass of champagne is the perfect start to an afternoon tea, but learning more about the history of, varieties and different insights about champagne made me appreciate it even more. Brut, rose or whichever your preference is, there is the perfect glass to match and pair with a delicious course throughout the afternoon tea. It was fantastic to hear about the different houses, growers and champagne community which are all so invested in keeping the tradition going and also navigating challenges like climate change and sustainability in the region of Champagne. 🎈 @beaverbrook always has gorgeous themes throughout the seasons and I absolutely loved their summer edition Sky full of Stripes 🎈 The food you enjoy is from their Japanese restaurant Fuji Grill, starting with a selection of Takumi Sashimi with Bluefin tuna, Hokkaido Cold Water Scallops and more. Then you move to the Yakiniku which is prepared on a Ubame Oak charcoal barbecue. You have a gorgeous selection of Kyushu Island Wagyu, West country lamb, prawn, octopus and more - all top quality produce, which I just loved.
