The French Palace stands as one of the most significant examples representing the nearly 500-year-old diplomatic relations between Turkey and France. Its most notable feature is being the first embassy building established by the French abroad. Designed by French architect Pierre-Leonard Laurécisque in bourgeois architectural style, the construction of the palace was completed in 1847.
