Journey to Jazz was vir my ‘n belewenis! Ek het verlede jaar daarvan gehoor en gedog hierdie jaar sou ek kom kuier en toe werk dit mooi uit dat ek eintlik deel is van die span. Dit was ‘n goeie geleentheid vir my om te leer, mense te leer ken en om te sien hoe mense bymekaar kom en fees!

My Name Is Miyanté Zoey Ceylon and I was stationed at the Tourism Information Center during the Journey To Jazz Festival, selling tickets. This was my second year selling tickets, and I absolutely love it to see and meet new faces.

My name is Renichia Mooneys, and I was the crew manager during J2J. I thoroughly enjoyed working with the crew and getting to know everyone on a personal level. It was so wonderful to see how everyone executed their roles during the festival and stepped out of their comfort zones. The youth were full of enthusiasm and ready to support wherever they were needed and showed up until the very last day of the festival. I was especially proud of how the youth crew presented themselves and how they grew since we started with all the training before the festival. I am really grateful to have walked this journey with them, because this has also made me grow as person.

Hi, my name Selwyn Maans and I'm the head of Knipoog Media at Prince Albert Community Trust.
I'm also a photographer and have been fortunate to be mentored by Louis Botha for the past 7 years.
I also manage the social media accounts of PACT, Journey to Jazz (J2J) and other projects under PACT.
It’s a busy portfolio, but one that I enjoy, especially being behind the camera capturing the stories of our town as they happen. In 2023, the first (J2J), I was on the ground with the team and being stretched, but this year, with the help of Melony, we have formed a team with its own rhythm that is able to get it all done. As J2J grows then I hope we can have more young people who can join us and benefit from the training and the experience.
Keeping my skills up to date and expanding them, during the 2024 festival, I also attended a photography workshop with 10 Prince Albert High School children, that was presented by ORMS and Canon. Canon South Africa also sponsored 10 Cameras to Knipoog Media, which I know we are going to use to keep recording a history of our town and its youth. Thank you!

Die jaar was baie lekker en het baie meer gemaklike gewees om met die artists te interact en dit was n groot eer dat Africa Mkhize my reken het deur my kunswerk. Kan nie wag vir volgend jaar se Journey .

Women of the World is an award-winning international acappella quartet that performs original and traditional folk music with a contemporary twist, in 37 languages. The four singers represent Japan, Turkey, India, and the USA.
They also performed at the Journey To Jazz (2024) in Prince Albert.
