I’ve been wanting to do this even since I first read @lauracummingart ’s magnificent book, Thunderclap. I’ve come to the @nationalgallery to stand and stare, to let the picture slowly reveal to me its secrets. I’m so grateful to Laura Cumming for teaching me to see.

I have always been told by my wonderful first HoA tutor NEVER go to a gallery and look at more that half a dozen paintings (bit hard when you have to travel miles to get there ) but sage words and you get SO much out of just absorbing what you see - will be interesting next time you see it too I think!
