despite some questionable tunings and tempos we had a delightful time last night at @thedecopub with @sabres.band and @wooedband , courtesy of @neuwaves - who i didn’t thank on stage, so *thank you* 💚 (my apologies, my vocalist licence is now under review…). further thanks to @miaromana_ for videographic and merch duties, and @misakiseishin for merch and biscuit analysis. anyway, a charming evening which definitely didn’t dehydrate me or ruin my voice. again
yesterday (yes, i was distracted and busy) we released the second issue of Fragments. it’s about the joys of Summer, except obviously I derail into thinking about Englishness and landscape and how both have been depicted in music, etc, etc. @mark_ranger_ has a great piece exploring childhood, memories, and place. there’s also a fascinating interview with Wendy Barry, a local loomist (good song title), and last but definitely not least, some amazing photos from someone I can’t tag… available via @fragmentspress at /, alongside copies of issue 1. issue 3 will appear in the Autmun 👀
if you think the idiotic picture above is ‘cool’ or ‘funny’ then maybe you should transport yr sad self to @neuwaves at the Deco in Pompey on Thursday, where twenty limbs will flail vaguely in time in the hope of making a rock music for you. there will be actual bands - @sabres.band et @wooedband - before and after this spectacle, worry not. @ididid666 , chuckling nervously at the void since uhhhhh 2022? i can’t remember. i’m old, tired.
playing at @awtpfest again by some level of popular demand. you should come. i’ve strained my groin playing football, every yelp into the mic will result from actual pain. we’ll have new songs, old people, no change, no development, no entertainment, and no remorse.

16 years ago tonight i was supporting Merzbow, Carlos Giffoni, and Flower-Corsano in Bristol, as one third of Totton Glass with @1artamonova and @comic_sans_soleil . heady days. this entire post is purely for the purposes of drawing attention to my incredible bum.
pleased to finally unveil our debut ep as @ididid666 recorded live in one day with @mattjanke_ and @lou_sawdy at @ranchproductions , mixed with some magic sprinkled on top by Matt, and then mastered by @neildkennedy . Matt has been great - no words could be enough to thank them for their work on this - and the Ranch is a brilliant space. my main memories are Adam’s ear-splitting amp being imprisoned in a separate, tiny room, me completely lacerating my throat, which you can hear but at the same time it opened up some unexpected noises, and one section which a certain unnamed person kept messing up. they have been reprimanded. it won’t happen again. anyway, by hook or crook there’ll be a vinyl edition as soon as. enjoy: /album/three-houses
so… a new venture. i’ve co-founded @fragmentspress with @mark_ranger_ (and he’s done all the heavy lifting), a small press that we hope to develop in various directions. but it begins here with Fragments #1 , the first issue of a quarterly zine discussing people and place - and other things. in #1 Mark discusses Spring, community, and the marking of time, and i wander through ideas of home and change. much more is said by both of us. we want this venture to have localised meaning but also escape beyond that, and we hope to connect with sympathetic people in our locale - and beyond. anyway, this is the seed and *insert growth metaphor here*: /shop
