Portsmouth! We continue our run of free shows with Crocodile Nightmares at The Vaults on the first Friday of each month in association with Southsea Sound.

Returning to their hometown after relentlessly tearing up the capital, come one of the finest new live bands in the land; the psych meets techno and krautrock noise fiends LIPWORMS, after releasing their debut via Slow Dance that received some wonderful support from the likes of So Young, Line of Best Fit and Rough Trade. Come and see what the fuss is all about, as the quartet play a rare hometown show.
DREAMWAVE
One of the most exciting psychedelic and garage-rock bands in the country right now, Bristol’s DREAMWAVE meaneder between the maniacal mind-blowing sounds of modern day legends Oh Sees and also the 2013 - 2015 - era King Gizz, whilst also delving towards the more softer and cosmic sounds of Melody's Echo Chamber.
ugly ozo
Hailing from the buzzy scene that is the Isle of Wight, come the excellent newcomers and new favourites of ours, ugly ozo with their brand of doom-fuzz pop meets grunge, psych and surf, that's akin to a melting pot of The Wytches, Ty Segall Band and Demob Happy, along with a a sprinkle of early Wolf Alice.
Don't you even think about giving us any money on entry, BUT, if you can spare the change, then maybe buy some merch or music from the artists to support them, either at the show or via their stores, as it helps - and also, maybe purchase a drink, or two to help the venue, so they can keep letting us continue to do these free shows for you all.

Portsmouth! 5 April, we team with Crocodile Nightmares, as we have label family Woody Green + band down from Brighton, bringing their wondrous baroque pop meets folk sounds, akin to Leonard Cohen and Velvet Underground. It's really rather beautiful.
Support comes from new dreampop London favourites, Cuckoo Spit, fresh their rather splendid single on the @slowdancerecords 23 compilation, along with the lovely folk sounds from Portsmouth’s own Megan Linford and indie dreampoppers Mimi Rae.

With austerity for over a decade-plus causing the rise of usage in food banks, along with the rapid cost-of-living crisis, the collective of Crocodile Nightmares, Mark Kellett, Strong Island Recordings, Velvet Candy and Vol. Promo respectively have decided to join forces once again for another edition of the Interstellar Food Drive, taking place at The Dockyard Club in Southsea 21 October.
Joining us for the day is noise-hardcore-punk outfit Scab, new ravey krautrock cosmonauts Lipworms, local legends Paul Groovy and The Pop Art Experience and their brand of frenzied garage and surf-punk, the whimsical Vashti Bunyan-esque-folk sounds of Megan Linford, instrumental surf outfit The Gary 7, the grunge-fuzz pop goodness of Rose’s Diary, psychedelic-space-rock riot Lytupp, 60s like psychedelic-poppers Number 9, Southampton shoegazers Burning House, and the gothic-tinged dreampop outfit Making Eyes.
The Interstellar Food Drive was birthed out of previous food bank drive events from over the years, which has seen the likes of Drug Store Romeos, Dead Rabbits, Hotel Lux, Melt Dunes, and Pregoblin play the food bank fundraiser. The 2020 version, due to the Covid-19 pandemic took place online and featured the likes of Lime Garden, Rosie Alena, TV Priest, Lynks, Jessica Winter, Ugly, Thyla, Maripool, Breathe Panel, Public Body and lots more emerging artists from the UK, as well as international acts including BADGERS, Sunfruits, Dear Doonan and Tropa Magica.
