With 25 missions, GEM provided more than 150 million dollars worth of aid and support to people around the world. With more than 355 missions in 56 countries, GEM’s reach is larger than ever before. GEM HQ is deploying to multiple islands in partnership with the Caribbean Consular Corps and Caribbean Strong. GEM is calling for volunteers at their Doral headquarters from 10 am to 5 pm every day for the coming week to assemble family necessity kits for those islands affected by Hurricane Beryl. GEM ground teams will be in Grenada later this afternoon, then boating to Carriacou (a nearby island that was destroyed) tomorrow morning. In St. Vincent (and Union Island), our local ground partners are ready to receive and distribute aid as soon as it arrives. GEM executive staff is working alongside the Caribbean offices of Consuls General and Ambassadors to assess immediate needs as the storm continues its path near Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, and Cancun/Tulum. @missusa @savannahmarai visited the @globalempowermentmission (GEM) Headquarters in Miami to provide support for their Hurricane Relief efforts last Friday. ⛑️ The reigning Miss USA, recently moved to Miami, visited local nonprofit The Global Empowerment Mission to volunteer and showcase her support for Miami based nonprofits. Born and raised in Kihei on the island of Maui, Savannah Mankiewicz was crowned Miss Hawaii USA 2023 and proudly represented her home state at the Miss USA 2023 pageant in Reno, Nevada.

Thanks to your recent contributions we have some exciting news to share.  Sacred Amazonia’s team, along with Cofán indigenous guides, recently returned from an expedition deep within the Cofán territory.  On this journey, we were able to collect rare and endangered plant species to begin propagating within the (5) hectares of deforested land we are currently working on. On this deforested land, there is actually a small section of in tact rainforest. This area, along with the surrounding perimeter will now serve as a nursery. Within, we are raising seedlings collected during our expeditions, that will act as a seed bank as part of Sacred Amazonia’s Reforestation Plan. These seedlings are the future of the Amazon, the key to repopulating not only this deforested area, but deforested areas throughout the rainforest, inviting back it’s once thriving wildlife. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the local indigenous people who continue to share their wisdom and for joining us on this journey. We also thank the generous donors who continue to make this project possible. But our journey is far from over, and we need your help to continue this vital work.  Every dollar you donate is a seed of change. On World Refugee Day, Global Empowerment Missions honors all people who were forced to flee their home due to a disaster or armed conflict. For years GEM has been supporting refugees worldwide providing them with critical aid, temporary housing and relocation opportunities. Gratitude for this warrior. We met @andrew.negrych in Poland during the first few days of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Andriy has been instrumental in shaping our GEM Ukraine branch. As director of operations, Andriy manages a team of only 99 staff members. Those 99 produce more impact than big government INGO’s with 1000 plus staff members. Here’s some snippets of our Livelihoods sector reporting. In addition to sending over 225,000 GEM HGBF family kits per month to front line regions, we have already distributed and planted over 100 M HGBF seeds in the last 3 months. We’re happy to share a few moments of joy from our recent distribution of new shoes and clothing for Eid, in South Gaza. Our partners at @hcicanada supported and inspired this initiative. Together, we’re reaching families and children with essential aid - from food kits to medical supplies and clothing boxes. Our first international shipment of disaster relief supplies with @airlinkflight has arrived and been unloaded in Brazil to support the Rio Grande do Sul community, providing immediate assistance to those impacted by last month’s catastrophic floods in Latin America. Our @globalempowermentmissionlatam team, led by @luisvelasquezq01 first arrived on the ground on Day 3 of the floods, organizing humanitarian relief efforts.
