On our 5th anniversary, we’re honored to have our impact and next phase of culture-defining work in @vanityfair ! 5 years ago, Gold House began our culture-shaping work with the debut of Crazy Rich Asians, convening the community behind the first-ever #GoldOpen with Director Jon M. Chu and his cast. The film broke records and began a groundswell of excitement and investment in Asian Pacific stories that led to this year’s historic Academy Awards. A lean but mighty co-founding team of passionate volunteers has invested thousands of hours connecting with hundreds of leaders while building our now history-making ventures including: -Co-Founders Kevin Lin, Janet Yang, Patrick Lee, Maggie Hsu, Sanjay Sharma, Kev Nish, James Roh, Kirby Lee, Jeremy Tran and Bing Chen -The first program directors Megan Ruan, Mikkoh Chen, Yao King, Kaylyn Shibata, Cindy Joung, Laura Choi, Ben Chu, James Kuk, Josh Jun and Chris Au and their 100-person Fellowship army -The next Board Directors once we incorporated as a nonprofit including Prabal Gurung, Michelle Lee and Daniel Dae Kim; and our newest Directors Agnes Chu and Helen Lin -And long-standing collaborations with Eric Feng, Nina Yang Bongiovi, Susie Nam, Christina Chou, Sheri Bryant & Tim Chang Now, with a full time team, Gold House has built the leading cultural ecosystem focused on “equitable excellence”: identifying the people, projects and platforms that impact the most communities while empowering them to foster expansive socioeconomic change. Alongside key leaders and allies, we unite, invest in and champion Asian Pacific creators and companies through innovative programs and platforms that guarantee commercial viability for cultural imperatives. We work with artists and every major media company to reshape public narratives; partner with global companies and investors to redefine existing power structures; and unite our community in celebration and excellence to reimagine possibilities. Now we begin our next phase, Gold Bridge, to better connect industries, multicultural communities and continents. Thank you to everyone committed to building a tomorrow for all! 🔗 goldhouse.org/vanityfair 📷 @danielseunglee

OpenTable's all-Gold Women C-Suite of Debby Soo, Susan Lee, and Amy Wei prove that confidence, deep industry knowledge, mutual empowerment, and investment in diverse voices win business and customers. A recent McKinsey and Leanin.org study found that only 1.8% of C-suite positions at large companies are held by Asian women. In fact, the number of Asian women currently fall off by 80% at the upper echelons of leadership. Debby, Susan, and Amy are defying and changing these odds with hard work and humor, kindness and killer instincts, and gravitas and grace. We're proud to know and partner with OpenTable on our Gold Chef Prize, Gold Gala, and beyond! Thank you to @inc and Jennifer Conrad for spotlighting Gold leaders! Last week, we convened 100+ leading Asian Pacific leaders across media and advertising at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity to celebrate our collective presence at this global event and to unite for progress in this industry! Thank you to Helen Lin (Chief Digital Officer, Publicis Groupe) and Michelle Tang (Global Chief Growth Officer, McCann) for your unwavering leadership, Frank Starling (Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer, Cannes Lions) for your official embrace from the festival, and Sabrina Ellis (Chief Product Officer, Pinterest) and Judy Lee (Senior Director of Global Experiences, Pinterest) for generously providing a home for us at Pinterest Manifestival. Investing in the Asian Pacific community via both visible representation and media spend is not just crucial for narrative change, but also business outcomes. The Asian Pacific community holds $1.3 trillion of buying power in the United States alone, and the vast majority of the community has reported that feeling authentically represented and understood by brands affects their purchasing decisions. This is why we: - Partner with leading research organizations such as Nielsen and the Association of National Advertisers to distill the power, reach, and concerns of the Asian Pacific community for advertisers and publishers (available at goldhouse.org/research), - Created the definitive guide for authentic representation of the Asian Pacific community in advertising (available at goldstorybook.com) - Consult for national brands such as Garnier and Proctor & Gamble to promote affirming storytelling in advertising If you'd like to be part of our movement in the media and advertising industry, DM us!
