Pride is celebrated in June, which is when the Stonewall Riots took place. The Stonewall Riots were important protests that took place in 1969 in the US, that changed gay rights in America and around the world. Pride is a celebration of people coming together in love and friendship, to show how far LGBTQ+ rights have come, and how in many places there's still work to be done; including here in the UK. Pride is more than a month! The challenges and stigmas that impact our lives happen on more than just one day or month a year. Everyday is an opportunity to be more informed, to find out about services to signpost to and to better educate ourselves on the experiences of others by listening and learning. 👟 Mind HEH takes on Haying Billy 5 for it's 25th anniversary 👟 A week a go a team from HEH mind took part in the 25th anniversary Hayling Billy 5 Mile. It was an beautiful day with a fantastic turn out for this event. Exercise and mental health are closely linked, as regular physical activity can reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression while boosting mood and overall well-being. It stimulates the release of endorphins and other chemicals that promote a sense of happiness and relaxation, contributing to improved mental health. We have some very exciting news to announce soon! Keep your eyes peeled for an event we are planning 🤫🤭

Hot weather - Medication Any heat/ warm weather can be tricky for some of us taking certain mental health medications. Some medications can affect how well we regulate our temperature, which can cause us to overheat quicker. Some can also cause us to sweat more or increase our sensitivity to sunlight. Hot weather - Scars In hot weather we may need to wear lighter or looser clothing. This does not mean we have to talk about our scars, explaining to others about is entirely our own decision. If you notice someone’s scars, be led by them. Hot weather - Hydration Whether taking medication or not, its important to stay hydrated. Ware hats, suncream and avoid the hottest day of the day between 11am and 3pm.

🌟 Happy Father's Day! 🌟 Today, we celebrate the incredible fathers who shape our lives with their love, wisdom, and strength. We understand that fatherhood comes with its own set of challenges and triumphs. We recognise that Father's Day can be a difficult time for many families. For those who have lost a father, those who never knew theirs, or those who have experienced the unimaginable loss of a child, today can bring a mix of emotions. This Father’s Day, let’s not only honour the dads but also acknowledge the importance of mental health in their journey. Whether you're a father, a father figure, or remembering your own dad. 💙 Fathers, remember to take care of your mental health. It's okay to ask for help, to share your struggles, and to take time for self-care. Your well-being is crucial, not just for you, but for your loved ones too. If you or someone you know needs support. Visit our website easthantsmind.org or sands.org.uk To all the amazing dads out there, thank you for all that you do. Today, we celebrate you and encourage you to embrace mental wellness. 🌈 #FathersDay #MentalHealthMatters #CelebrateDads #SelfCareForDads #Fatherhood #MentalHealthAwareness #FathersDay2024
