Maison Francis Kurkdjian was founded in Paris by Francis Kurkdjian, one of the world’s most celebrated perfumers, and Co-founder and CEO Marc Chaya, a brilliant businessman who, by age 32, made partner at the renowned financial firm EY.
As a teenager, Francis discovered his passion for fragrances and by age 25 created Le Mâle for Jean-Paul Gautier, a game-changer which ignited his remarkable career.
He has collaborated with prestigious houses to bring one-of-a-kind perfume creations to life, including Dior, Guerlain, Saint-Laurent, Narciso Rodriguez and Acqua di Parma.
In 2001, Francis founded his custom fragrance studio and was honored by the French Minister of Culture for his artistic contributions to France.
Having recreated Marie Antoinette’s favorite perfume for the Chateau of Versailles… By 2009, Francis and Marc felt it was time to bring their eponymous fragrance collection to life.
Maison Francis Kurkdjian was born.
During the next eight years, Francis launched 28 fragrances for the Maison including the iconic Baccarat Rouge 540 in 2014.
In a stunning metamorphosis, clear crystal gradually fuses with 24-karat gold powder at 540 degrees Celsius, turning bright red; the rouge à l’or.
Baccarat Rouge 540’s memorable scent quickly became a worldwide sensation.
Together, Marc and Francis established a perfect partnership which enabled the Maison to enter the LVMH Group in 2017.
Serving as the Director of Perfume Creation at Christian Dior, Francis continues to work alongside Marc.
Today, the incredible fragrances of Maison Francis Kurkdjian can be found all over the world.
