@skepta at the second screening of @tribalmark at @everymancinema in @genesisworn POPSTAR Shades
If you can, make sure you go and watch Tribal Mark. A short but substantial look into the experience of an immigrant and its impact on their mental health from the eyes of Co-Director and Executive Producer Skepta and the team at 1PLUS1 Productions through a fictional lens. The cinematography and fine details surpassed my high expectations. Tribal Mark is further evidence that Skepta is not just a rapper who explores other outputs but a brilliant creative mind that was nurtured in Grime.
@judecarmichael_ portrayal of Mark really stood out to me. He naturally illustrated the emotion of his character, something that I feel is often rare when it comes to a 'street' character (l always think a lot of actors end up seeming like a middle class kid living in a village cosplaying as a roadman). As a viewer who did not relate at all to his situation I found it easy to begin to connect with the character. I look forward to seeing how Mark's story progresses.

BLACK LIVES MATTER
I am lucky enough to have had many experiences with incredible people that have educated me on the black lives matter movement and would like to do my best to educate the people I've seen question the movement. These protests are happening because black injustice is a repeated issue, experienced, seen and heard time and time again, since long before many of us were born. I've seen a lot of people point out other instances of injustice. Yes there are horrible acts that have happened towards people from all other walks of life but more often than not those are one off incidents or are committed by people in search of terror and are almost never committed by the people who made a promise to protect society. Racially motivated crimes against black people are happening constantly all over the world even in the most accepting and progressive countries like ours, the UK is not innocent. The black lives matter protests need to happen to expose and remove the racist mindsets that are so deeply rooted within society that not only instigate violence against black people (the very obvious forms of racism that almost everybody is aware of) but also suppresses their opportunities for success and silences them when they try to speak up (the more subconscious forms of racism that are often practiced completely blindly and subconsciously that white people are often unaware of). I know if I lived in a world where the likelihood of my brother's, my sisters, my mother, my father and my children being wrongly imprisoned, verbally or physically abused and murdered in coldblood ON CAMERA with nowhere near severe enough or often no repercussions at all was higher just because of the colour of their skin I would not sit in silence and that's why people are taking to the streets. That's why it's important everybody speaks out right now as any human can see the issue with what is going on. Yes there are other issues but this one shouldn't have existed in the first place and has been allowed to show it's ugly face for far too long. BLM has the worlds attention and it's time to use that attention to make a change! Remember to teach and keep peace.

The final slide is a picture of a lovely lady who was more than eager to tell me all about how Jeremy has helped her throughout her life, fond memories of how her late husband would help out by driving Jeremy around and the fun the 3 of them would have travelling together. She also has a beautiful collection of butterfly broaches you can see her proudly wearing on her beanie.
