today i was reminded of a very real aspect of traditional art, and that's making mistakes. when i started drawing today i made a goal in my mind that i wanted to start right away, get a sketch done right away just to get an idea on paper. ofc thats not how it went at all, i spent almost an hour looking at a blank page, figuring out what i wanted to draw, sorting through references images and getting frustrated at my sketches. when i finally got a sketch i half way liked, it really motivated me to continue and the more and more i worked on this drawing i fell more and more in love with it. that is until when i got home took a break and came back to it. i knew i wanted a blue green background, so i decided to use watercolor and someway somehow the watercolor seeped into his chin and stained it. i tried to go in and fix it but in the end everything i did just made it worse. i had a meltdown and fell back into the same pit i was in when i started the piece. i don't feel any better about it typing all this out, but i guess remembering that this kind of stuff comes with the territory of traditional art makes me feel just a little bit better. the version ur seeing now is edited. ill post the real photo on my story #traditionalart#art#artist#doodle#drawing#copic#copicmarkers#watercolor

not my best work but considering i haven't done traditional art sm since 2018, im not too hard on myself. i explain on my story why there's a significantly long gap in between redraws. seeing them all together is so, so, so cute i will definitely do this again next year :>
