July is National Lost Pet Prevention Month. July 4th and the days surrounding it are the busiest days of the year for animal shelters accepting lost pets. Many dogs and cats are startled or frightened by the sound of fireworks or the activity of backyard parties, and many flee and get lost. To make sure lost pets can be reunited with their family, Purina — and their partners at the Coalition for Pet Progress — are holding a happy hour at Urban Chestnut’s Midtown location where they will be offering leashes, collars and engraved name tags for a small donation that will benefit the Coalition.
The Coalition for Pet Progress is a group of 35 St. Louis-area pet welfare organizations dedicated to ensuring pets and their guardians have access to care and resources needed for happy, healthy lives.
Because events are better when your pets are involved, the happy hour is a dog friendly event. Purina will be giving away treats and bandanas for your four-legged friend.🐕🦺🐕
Don’t have a dog?! Not to worry. Several local shelters will be on-site with adoptable dogs looking who are looking for their forever home. If you are looking for a pet – PetFinder.com is a great place to start.🦴🐾
