Hey everyone! We’ve received a last-minute invitation that we decided to accept out of respect for Māori traditions and folklore, so we won’t be able to join you for the Matariki viewing on Friday, June 28th, early morning. If you want to observe the rising of Matariki, here are some tips: Matariki will rise around 5:45am, just off the northeastern horizon. It will probably become visible around 6:30 to 7am. To find Matariki, follow the three stars of Orion's Belt (Tautoru) to the opposite side of Sirius (the brightest star in the night sky). We hope you enjoy this special event! #Matariki #StarGazing #AkaroaStargazing

Stargazers in the Southern Hemisphere, get ready for a treat! The Eta Aquariid meteor shower is coming, and it's expected to be more active in our part of the world! According to EarthSky, the Southern Hemisphere will see more meteors due to the Earth's tilt and the meteor shower's radiant point. So, grab a blanket, head outside, and enjoy the celestial show! Peak viewing times are May 4-5, better mark your calendars! #EtaAquariid #MeteorShower #Stargazing #SouthernHemisphere
