Confession — as a wedding planner, I’ll always look up at a grey sky with narrowed eyes. But as a wedding *designer*? I LOVE A GOOD CLOUD. Going through all of Lily + Rob’s wedding photos this morning, I found myself leaning forward, chin on hand, just smiling (and, honestly, swooning). Never am I more proud than when the final wedding experience — both in how it looks and how it *feels* — truly represents who my clients are as individuals and as a couple. This show-stopping 5-layer wedding cake by the brilliantly talented Edith Meyer is not only a work of art — it also contains a secret detail I’ve never before seen at a wedding that miiiight just blow your mind (as it did mine!). If you look closely, you’ll see a beautiful floral pattern designed in the icing. Look familiar? It’s a custom replica of the intricate lace detail seen on the bride’s Anne Barge wedding gown! I always see my wedding design work as a collaboration, and this was especially true for Caroline + Sam’s table design. I loved my conversations with the bride and her mom as we sifted through different ideas and pairings before landing on this final look — even bringing in purchased salad bowls and serving utensils when we couldn’t find quite the right fit anywhere else!
