On our first trip to Essen SPIEL we met Johannes and Sunniva from @boardgamingramblings . They are boardgame reviewers with a YouTube channel of the same name. We became subscribers to their channel when they started their Keep or Cull series.
They also posted a video on how to prepare to go to SPIEL: get in advance your list of games in each of Need, Want, Like, Maybe and Ignore.
We felt that they were our virtual guide to the event and we wanted to share a bit of appreciation.
We came with the idea of making new paddles for keep or cull, more really a joke or a wink from fans to their channel.
For people who doesn't know them, on their Keep or Cull series they go over their collection of 600+ games and then decide if they want to keep it or cull it (give it away to patrons and subscribers). On each episode they present a game, then do a count 3, 2, 1 and Boom both reveal their choice by showing Keep or Cull on a paddle that each one carries. Tipically Johannes want to keep most of the games and Sunniva the other way around.
So we came of the idea of creating a new set of paddles, one for Sunniva with cull on both sides 🤪 and another for Johannes with keep on one side and Boom 💥 on the other.
We weren't sure how they would take it, but they were super cool with it, they even mentioned that we made their day.
Today is their first Keep or Cull episode since Essen and they used our Paddles in their show 😍 and they publicly thanked us, we obviously feel very flattered.
