Bamboo (🇩🇪 in comments) The next game in the Kemushi saga is Bamboo by author @germanpmillan . Chronologically, it lies between Bitoku, Yokai Sketch and Silk. Humans now exist, but they live in harmony with the spirits of the forest. The content is about creating a family household and maintaining harmony. This involves harvesting bamboo, which can be used for decorations, but also to gain money and food. Above all, the various spirits are honored with offerings (which are brought to their temples) and asked for their blessing. In terms of gameplay, this is an action mechanism in which both bamboo sticks and incense sticks (to honor the spirits) are selected and played. Placing the incense sticks creates an area control element. Finally, you can also find, through acquiring and placing household items, a tile placement mechanism. Bitoku (🇩🇪 in comments) Three years after the release of Silk, the game Bitoku, developed by @germanpmillan , was released, introducing us to the ancient world of the Kemushi Saga and its inhabitants (Bitokus, Kodamas and Yokais - humans do not yet exist). The game board embodies the forest inhabited by the spirits of the ancestors. It is full of temples, pilgrims and crystals. As players, we take on the role of a spirit who wants to become the next Great Spirit of the Forest. In terms of gameplay, this is a deckbuilder / diceplacement game in which we generate resources, construct buildings, collect crystals, awaken pilgrims and send them on their journey... there are truly many possibilities and that’s what makes Bitoku special! For us, it remains one of our favorite games! Silk (🇩🇪 in comments) Back in 2018 @devirgames released the first game in the Kemushi Saga: Silk. High in the Akaiishi Mountains live the silkworms that produce valuable silk balls. The local shepherds, with the help of their herding dogs, look after their welfare and safety. This is necessary because the Ookami wants to take them to his/her cave and eat them. They also want to be the most successful herder and we are happy to thwart the plans of others to achieve this. In each round, we roll actions that allow us to build walls, move the shepherd/dog/Ookami or produce silk. Silk is a simple strategy game that nevertheless offers an interactive and reactive gaming experience. Dieses Jahr sorgt die Nominierten- und Empfehlungsliste von @spieldesjahres_official für Diskussionen. Da wollen wir natürlich auch unsere Meinung äußern. Mit Captain Flip, Sky Team und Auf den Spuren von Darwin auf der Liste für das Spiel des Jahres und Die Gilde der fahrenden Händler, Ticket to Ride Legacy sowie E-Mission als Kennerspiel des Jahres scheinen einige nicht ganz zufrieden zu sein. Um es kurz zu machen: Ja, auch wir empfinden die diesjährige Auswahl etwas ausbaufähig. Aber woran liegt das? Die Antwort ist einfach: die Wahl entspricht nicht unserer Favoritenliste. Seien wir ehrlich: wir erhoffen uns ja alle, unsere Favoriten bestätigt zu bekommen und bei uns hat es dieses Jahr nicht wirklich funktioniert. Warum fühlen sich dieses Jahr aber so viele nicht abgeholt? Es war ein sehr starkes Spielejahr, mit sehr vielen großartigen Spielen. Anders als beim Deutschen Spielepreis, wird die Auswahlliste aber nicht durch Abstimmung, sondern durch eine Jury getroffen. Das man da den Geschmack aller trifft, ist natürlich schwer. Die Auswahlkriterien stehen zudem sehr oft in Gegenposition zu dem, was wir als Vielspieler als wichtig/interessant empfinden. Immer öfter hört man den Wunsch (wir schließen uns dem auch voll und ganz an) eine zusätzliche Kategorie für Expertenspiele aufzugreifen. Hier könnten sich Vielspieler evtl. eher angesprochen fühlen. Wir wollen aber nicht nur meckern, denn in der Auswahl steckt auch Gutes. So loben wir die Entscheidung ein 2Spieler-Spiel auf die Liste gebracht zu haben. Auch dass ein Legacy-Spiel nominiert (auch wenn der Preis [der unserer Meinung nach vollkommen berechtigt ist] etwas an den Auswahlkriterien zweifeln lässt) wurde, ist positiv zu bewerten. Wir sind gespannt, wie die Listen für den Deutschen Spielepreis aussehen werden. Evtl. finden wir da unsere Favoriten?!
