We were married at the courthouse in NYC on October 29th, 2009. We had a celebration a few weeks later on November 20th. Every year for the past 14 years we let our anniversary celebration pass us by not knowing which day we should celebrate. We always had an excuse. Monica was crazy busy at that time of year working on the VS show, I was seeing clients…sometimes we weren’t even in the same city. We never really celebrated our anniversary. We would always tell each other that everyday was a celebration of our love and we really didn’t need to do anything special on the date.
Our daughter Aiden has convinced us that it is important “at our age” to celebrate each other and our wedding day. We are calling it. The date is today, November 20th. This date, was especially memorable to us because our friends flew in from all over the world to celebrate us. We felt so much love in the room. It was the beginning of our incredible journey together and our new family of three. Aiden read a beautiful poem by Kahil Gibran, “On Marriage”. It brought the house to tears. Our friends followed by roasting us with their speeches. Later on, Aiden stuck her head in our wedding cake! We haven’t planned anything for tonight, but now that we chose a date, we have time to plan for next year. Or will we?

The perfect beach outfit. Our white cotton Boyfriend Shirt and Grey Garden cotton boxer shorts.
“I wore this shirt on our beautiful trip to Greece more times than I care to admit…over shorts, with silk pants and as a coverup. It’s soft, slouchy and always chic. I’m pretty sure while on vacation the rule is to just smell your clothes to see if you can wear them again” 😜 -Monica Mitro
