My journey to establish a career in Canada has been defined by resilience, perseverance, and a steadfast belief in immigrant talent.
Arriving in 2017 as an international student with experience from India’s top news media outlets, I encountered challenges in Canada’s job market, repeatedly facing rejections citing ‘Canadian experience’ as a barrier. Undeterred, after four years of networking and perseverance, I secured my career foothold. My story resonates with countless skilled immigrants seeking better opportunities in Canada.
As a committed community member, I advocate for increased job access in various fields for immigrants and racialized communities.
My proposal involves launching an online platform offering bridging programs and job opportunities. This initiative aims to level the playing field, supporting immigrants in achieving career success within a condensed timeframe and valuing their international experiences.
