🎪🎲 What board game exhibitions do you go to? Did you go to UKGE this year? 😃 I was lucky enough to meet with some awesome folks and get excited for things to come! Swipe to see the pics ◀️ So firstly it was great to finally meet Jess 🤘 @thunderworksgames and get an overview of Metrorunner and what they are working on. Mindclash let us check out Ironwood ⚔️ which is a great 2 player strategy game with the quality expected from Mindclash which I can't wait to get hold of and I got a copy of Voidfall with miniatures 🤩🙌 Eeeek! Got to meet Ben from Osprey in person and he was so friendly 😎 he talked me through a locked box 🔐 of all the new releases coming soon including Battalion & Undaunted 2200 Callisto 🤤 Great to meet Czech games who expertly showed off SETI which looks fascinating and has an awesome rotating solar system and from nowhere became one of my most anticipated games! And also got Kutna Hora which I've wanted since the last UKGE ❤️ Alleycat 🐈‍⬛ games gave me an overview of Ada's Dream which looks gorgeous 😍 and is very satisfying to play! (love on Kickstarter now!) and I got a copy of Autobahn which is an economic game about building up the German motorway 🛣️ 👌 🪖Hegemonic had a copy of World Order which is also now a hugely anticipated game for me (release it now! 😅) on show which is slightly lighter than Hegemony but still keeps the design with asymmetric powers and an ever changing game state to contend with. It's going to be incredible! Also spoke to @kosmosgamesuk ❤️ and I got to add to my collection of incredible @devirgames who are just smashing it! Finally I met the friendly folks at Lucky Duck 🦆 and snagged a copy of Senjutsu which caught my attention as soon as I saw it and I'm very much looking forward to diving in! Fill the Blank 💬 The THEME of the last game I played was _________ ! Was it pretty standard or something interesting? 😃 I think Pest is quite unusual for theme as a game about plague doctors healing the afflicted from the cataclysmic plague that torments the world! I love ❤️ that there are so many opportunities to choose from. Will you Build buildings 🏗️ or the capital? Assign healed meeples to tasks to power up your actions? Traverse the world or get more (and much needed) resources 🌿🍞 to aid your travels? Researching 🧪 new technology can also power you up or give you new abilities but these card may need a specific spot on your player board so you need to keep watching on what is available. Components are fantastic 👍, ♟️ Action selection works with worker placement on a 3x3 grid which I really enjoyed as the row and column define what you are doing on a turn and is a neat little puzzle 🧩 On top of this you are trying to complete agendas to gain VP and this gives you focus on what may be the best course of action without making the path to obvious. There are also Aid ⛑️ and Pest cards which are active each round giving players some story of how the world is evolving, where the sickness is spreading too and benefits for the player with highest influence at round end.
