Dominion Rising Sun--Expansion Type: Deck Building Players: 2-4 Players Length: < 30 minutes Status: June /July 2024 Designer: Donald X Vaccarino We journey now to the islands to the east – or west, depending on where you are relative to them. Here your title is Emperor. They tell you you’re just a figurehead, though you can still order whatever breakfast you want. They may be right; you did get that breakfast. Your ceremonial sword and armor are made of paper. The samurai never let you into their tea parties, and the ninjas are always tying your shoelaces together. And the epic poem they wrote about you is only 17 syllables long. Rice has been adopted as currency, and no-one seems to even be trying to get your face onto the grains. But when you wake up each morning and look out over the land, life doesn’t seem so bad. Now, what’s for breakfast? This is the 16th expansion to Dominion. It has 300 cards, with 25 new Kingdom card piles. There are Shadow cards that leap out from your deck, and Prophecies that will someday happen and change everything. Debt and Events return. #Dominion

Colorado Midland -- Coming Early June 2024 Type: Train Games Status: Coming Soon Designer: John Bohrer Artist: Todd Sanders Fabulous riches are discovered in the nearly inaccessible Rocky Mountains. Gold and silver mines are opening in remote boomtowns and the mine owners want men and equipment and supplies to work the Mother Lode. Now, they say, is the time to build the rails through the Rockies! The sooner a railroad gets to a mine, the greater the profits for the mine owner before the mine is exhausted. The iron horse means money, and lots of it. Players are mine owners spurring the fledgling railroads through the daunting alpine terrain to the various booming mining districts. There is no luck during the game, just shared incentives and emergent alliances between players. A game for three to five players for less than an hour, designed by the modern master of train games. /wp-content/uploads/2024/02/ColoradoMidland.pdf

Dominion Cornucopia & Guilds Type: Deck Building Players: 2-4 Players Length: < 30 minutes Designer: Donald X Vaccarino Artist: Jess J Status: Available Now This is the second edition of Cornucopia & Guilds, replacing 8 kingdom cards and the Prizes from the first edition. CORNUCOPIA: Autumn. It seemed like the summer would never end, but that fortune teller was right. It’s over. Autumn, the time of the harvest. Agriculture has advanced significantly in recent years, ever since the discovery of the maxim, “leaves of three, let it be.” Autumn, a time of celebration. The peasants have spent a hard week scything hay in the fields, but tonight the festivities begin, starting with a sumptuous banquet of roast hay. Then, the annual nose-stealing competition. Then, two jesters, one who always lies, one who always tells the truth, both hilariously. Then, they fight to the death! This celebration will truly have something for everyone. GUILDS: Jobs, everyone’s worried about jobs. Whatever happened to tilling the fields in obscurity? The economy is just a trick, like stealing someone’s nose, but lately people seem to have seen through it, like when you realize someone hasn’t really stolen your nose. So now everyone’s joining a guild, learning a craft, and working on a masterpiece – a painting so beautiful it blinds you, or a cheese grater so amazing that you never eat cheese again. The only people left tilling the fields are the ones doing it ironically. The guilds cover everything – ironic tilling, butchering, baking, candlestick making, shoemaking, cheesemaking, cheese destruction. Your advisor is convinced that somehow, control of the stonecutters is key to world domination. Very well. You will have stone handled so expertly that the world trembles before you. /wp-content/uploads/2024/02/CornucopiaGuilds.pdf

Ricochet Robots Type: Abstract Strategy Players: 1-100 Players Length: < 30 minutes Designer: Alex Randolph Status: Coming Soon We are happy to announce today, Alex Randolph’s birthday (Star Wars Day), our reprint of his great abstract game: Ricochet Robots. We expect to release the game later this year -- Summer 2024. Four robots move in a warehouse. As they have no brakes, they must rely on obstacles such as walls and other robots to stop. Once stopped, they use nozzles to move in a direction away from that obstacle, allowing them to turn. From time to time, they receive a request to move to one of the 17 targets in the warehouse and they rely on the players to provide them with instructions to move to the targets. Each turn, a player draws a chip to determine the next target and the robot that must reach it. The players search for the shortest moves to the target, using one or more of the robots. The player who finds the shortest route receives the chip as a reward. The player who takes the most chips, is the winner! Any number may play this game, making it a great party game. /en/alex100/ #alexrandolph #abacusspieleverlag #studiogiochi
