ONE TO WATCH - @sambangura As the first of our artist spotlight this man is certainly not one to be missed‼️ Sam Bangura, hailing from the Wirral near Liverpool, burst onto London’s scene at just 20, fueled by a DJing passion ignited at 12. His enigmatic style defies labels, crafting hypnotic rhythms that weave stories, whisking audiences on unforgettable journeys. With influences as diverse as his music selection, Sam blends sonic oddities with rolling basslines and percussion, rejecting musical boundaries. As a Half Baked resident and co-founder of NorthSouth Records, his productions capture his unique sound, earning acclaim across Europe and beyond.

Ahead of our party with Half Baked in Hackney Wick this Sunday, we caught up with their co-organiser and resident Sam Bangura.   Partnering with us since the very beginning, Half Baked will be returning to the sunny shores of Dhërmi for the third time this year, bringing with them the euphoric energy of their iconic London party. The Lion and Lamb, otherwise affectionately known as the pub or my second home. I first played there not long after it first opened, back in 2016 on a Summer Sunday afternoon, when I knew very little about the place but instantly fell for it. Not long after that, it became the home and birthplace of the record label I run with my two best mates Harry & Dale. You could say we’ve been part of the furniture in the pub for the best part of the 7 years since, running our bi-monthly @northsouthrecords parties there, and spending many an hour in countless others, often going there multiple times over a weekend just to see our favourite DJs grace that booth. It holds so many amazing memories for me. This Saturday the 2nd December, I’ve been invited to play my first all night long set and what better place for it?! I originally wrote both of these tracks over a year ago, during a period where I was making and experimenting with music pretty much non stop as part of the @freedom_engine_academy by @mathewjonson - Out of all the projects, something about these two always brought me back to them thinking, I must get them finished up and released.
