Have you played Maps of Misterra by @sitdowngames ? It's a very cool and fun game from the team that bought you our game of 2023 Tiwanaku. Very easy to play; move if you want to, take a card and if you want to play on your personal board (that will affect the main board too potentially) or claim an area. It seems simple but there's a lot of strategy and the other player/s always does something to make you have to change your plans. Simply wonderful. We got this at @ukgamesexpo and are loving it so far!! We speak to Sophie from Sit Down Games all about their exciting new and upcoming releases including the innovative Redwood, as well as the successor to the Spiel Des Jahres nominated Magic Maze, Magic Maze Tower! Sit Down Games did one of our favourites from 2023 with Maps of Misterra, and they are going from strength to strength with a fantastic line up for 2024. Our video you can find here or in our bio https://youtu.be/SOoQU_3780c Redwood is a game of movement estimations and angle of view where players have to take pictures of wild animals to compose the most beautiful panorama. The game is for 1 to 4 players, ages 10+ and the games last about 45-60 min. During their turn, each player will have to choose between different movements and their angle of view (materialized by real plastic elements) to catch the animals in the picture (without disturbing them). In Magic Maze Tower, the adventures of the dwarf, the elf, the barbarian and the magician at the mall were a failure and our (brave) adventurers find themselves prisoners of a tower, or rather, of a high-security prison. They will probably need the help of a 5th hero to help them....The goal of the game is to complete as many levels as possible to escape the prison. [Redwood], un jeu pour devenir le meilleur photographe animalier ! • 👥 : 1-4 joueurs ⏱ : 45 minutes 🎂 : 10 ans et + ⚙️ : Collection, Programmation ⭐️ : @sitdowngames • 📖 Comment se déroule une partie ? Une partie se déroule en 5 manches et le joueur avec le plus de points gagne à la fin. Durant un tour de jeu, il faut choisir ses 2 gabarits : l’un pour se déplacer et l’autre pour l’orienter vers une carte Panorama et avoir des éléments en dessous du gabarit. Il faut récupérer la carte Panorama et la placer adjacente à une autre. Les éléments fleurs, arbres ou animaux seront à placer sur la carte pour constituer une photo et gagner des points • ❤️ Ce que nous en pensons ? Redwood est un jeu de collection où le but sera de prendre la meilleure photo avec le plus d’éléments dessus. Nous avons adoré car il est accessible et la mécanique change des autres jeux ! Nous avons trouvé que la complexité du jeu était sur le choix du gabarit pour se déplacer et celui pour avoir des animaux ou fleurs totalement présents dans son champ de vision : il faut savoir se projeter car il n’est pas possible de les tester avant de choisir. Il est possible d’ajouter de la difficulté avec de la contrainte sur le choix des éléments et aussi d’y jouer en équipe. Nous y avons joué en duo : il se joue très bien mais les interactions sont peu nombreuses. A plus de joueurs, les interactions sont beaucoup plus présentes avec le choix des gabarits et la présence de plus de pions sur le plateau pour se déplacer ou avoir un angle de vision. Le matériel est super et de très bonne qualité. Nous adorons l’idée des gabarits à clipser sur les pions mais nous avons peur de les casser en les clipsants, à voir à long terme. L’auteur Christophe Raimbault est aussi derrière la licence des jeux Colt Express. Quant à l’illustrateur Edu Valls, il a travaillé sur le jeu Bitoku et son extension.
